Gary began his musical career at the age of 12 years old when he started a band with his fellow classmates. They called themselves The Strategics and were a popular choice for basement parties and graduation celebrations in the local Chicago area. Having taken guitar lessons the prior 5 years, Gary was a proficient bandmate who loved making music. Over the next 7 years, he joined or formed garage bands (that mostly played in garages) with a few jobs thrown in here and there. Some of the bands included, The Lemonade Forest (feel the 60's influence?), The County Morgue (R.I.P), The Bandits and Revival.
At the age of 19, Gary was asked to fill-in guitar for Rick Saucedo and The Fabulous Ambassadors when their guitar player became ill. He stayed on and became the lead guitar player, performing in virtually every state in the USA as well as Canada.
In 1978, the band went to New York to star at the Palace Theater in the Broadway play - ELVIS - THE LEGEND LIVES - a play saluting the life and times of Elvis Presley and starring Rick "Elvis" Saucedo. While there, Gary worked with some of the great performers who had been close to Elvis including The Jordanaires, Elvis' original backup singers, D.J. Fontana, Elvis' original drummer and The Sweet Charisma. The show moved to Las Vegas one year later to the Stardust Hotel where the band played to sold out shows nightly. Upon their return to Chicago, Gary left the band to focus on his family.
Throughout his life, Gary has always been involved with music, playing with different local bands while building his career in the food service industry. In 1988, Gary joined Danny & The Twisters as their lead guitar and background singer. He remained with the band until a relocation to Minnesota in 1996 forced him to leave. Having formed close personal relationships with the guys, they kept in touch throughout the next 10 years. When Gary returned to Chicago, he reunited with the band where they would play occasionally at annual reunions.
Today, Gary remains the bands lead guitar player and loves the relationships that have stood the test of time.
